Inspiration struck Todd Kuchman at the 2001 National Western Stock Show and Rodeo.

"I was a little bored after the fifth cowboy fell from the fifth bull," said Kuchman, who looked to cure his boredom by wandering the exhibitor booths.

A girl knocked a table and sent 20 CDs tumbling to the floor, and Kuchman thought, "What if there were bumps on it to protect the disc?" He had a prototype six weeks later; the product hit retail in 2004. Kuchman's idea evolved into the Aero-Bump, which he likened to "fingertips" on the outer reaches on a CD or DVD that touch the surface below before any other part of the disc, making it 25 times...
