During the second week of September, ministers, high authorities, and experts in science and technology from OAS countries met in Washington, DC in the context of the Sixth Regular Meeting of the Inter-American Committee on Science and Technology (COMCYT) to identify mechanisms for hemispheric cooperation on scientific and technological development and for promoting innovations.

Following the mandates of the Declaration and the Action Plan that came from the Second Meeting of Ministers and High Authorities on Science and Technology held in Mexico two years ago, the authorities and experts also followed up on the individual activities of each of the OAS member states.
