We're saddened to inform you of the passing of former CalCPA Chair Harold S. Schultz. Hal passed away Saturday, March 7, due to complications from influenza/ pneumonia. He was 67.

In addition to his successful, 40-year career as a CPA, Hal devoted a lifetime of service to the profession he loved as an active member of CalCPA and the AICPA. He served on numerous committees and task forces dedicated to the advancement of the CPA profession, including chair of CalCPA (1997-98) and 25 years on CalCPA's Government Relations Committee. For the last 16 years, Hal provided strategic advice and counsel to CalCPA regarding regulatory and legislative matters pertaining to the enhancement and best interests of the CPA profession in California.

As a CalCPA representative, Hal attended virtually every meeting of the California Board of Accountancy, providing a...
