Barry Schacht was "hanging out" in Boulder in the late 1960s, when he went into the spindle business with his brother Dan. Nearly 40 years later, he's still in the weaving business. The Schacht Spindle Company makes a catalog of 150 products, including spindles as well as looms, spinning wheels and assorted hand-weaving accessories. The company's 1969 launch coincided with the genesis of the "back-to-the-Earth movement," Barry said.
