FROM THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR’S DESK

Welcome to November - you’ve made it almost to the end of 2020. This time of year is usually when we welcome our biggest group of new members, and despite its best efforts, 2020 is no exception.

In the spirit of welcoming new members and serving our current members, this month we are sending all active SC Bar members a printed booklet called Your Membership Guide.

During the past two years I’ve served in this role I’ve had many conversations with members and often heard the statement “I didn’t realize the Bar offered _____.” You can fill in the blank with a range of programs from free counseling services and one-on-one help with practice management questions to free legal research tools or a pay one price passport to most CLE programs.

The Bar staff spent the summer putting together this guide - an easy to read, brief overview of the services and resources available to you. The guide is designed to serve as a reference tool so you don’t have to read it all in one sitting. The goal in creating the booklet is to provide information about how the Bar enhances the profession, facilitates critical connections, and provides top-quality education so you can better serve your clients.

Whether you are new to the Bar or have been practicing for several decades, you can find practical information for all stages of your career in the booklet. Members who are interested in serving in leadership...
