On October 21, 2010, TEI's Santa Clara Valley Chapter hosted its 23rd Annual International Tax Day, in cooperation with Baker & McKenzie, at the Santa Clara Hyatt Regency hotel. More than 150 registrants attended the program, approximately two-thirds of whom were TEI members.

International Tax Day is one of the chapter's best attended seminars. Rick Eigenbrode (chapter president) and Peter Waterstreet (chapter secretary) organized the program on behalf of the chapter, working with Robin Chesler and Christian Broderson of Baker's Palo Alto and Frankfurt offices, respectively, who also served as moderators of the program. Approximately 35 Baker & McKenzie attorneys from around the world participated in the program, making presentations on topics ranging from Responding to U.S. International Tax Legislation & Proposals, International Tax Controversy in the U.S., and New European and Asian VAT Issues, to Key Issues in Managing Tax Audits Around the World and Tax Strategies for Dealing with Slow Economic Recovery. In addition, there were regional breakout sessions covering China, Europe, India, Mexico, and Canada.
