Investigative journalist Geri Spieler and former college dean Rick Kaplowitz have authored San Francisco Values: Common Ground for Getting America Back on Track, which maintains that Pres. Donald Trump tests the nation's fundamental values and decency. Tracing the evolution of the U.S. using San Francisco's culture as a baseline, the book examines the issues of race, health care, homelessness, and immigration.

The authors have fashioned a seven-point checklist, based on what they claim San Francisco--and the Constitution--stands for. From this, readers are supposed to discern which candidates support/oppose laws and practices that reflect biases based on religion, ethnicity, gender, or color.

Did the President act quickly? In March, the San Francisco Bay Area became the first region in the nation to issue a "shelter-in-place" edict to seek control over the spread of COVID-19. Kaplowitz observes, 'Trump pushed to open the economy too soon, sidelining the expertise of Dr. Anthony Fauci for the... decisionmaking processes of sonin-law Jared Kushner and Vice Pres. Mike Pence."

Is there a Red Pandemic/Blue Pandemic? The more the president launches attacks against Democratic governors for their handling of the crisis, the more House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D.-Calif.) fights for the citizens around the country who do not look at a pandemic as if it is a political candidate running for office.
