Salt Lake City -- Two Utah tribal Smart Sites have received 8(a) certification from the U.S. Small Business Administration. SUH'DUTSING TECHNOLOGIES, LLC, established by the Cedar Band of the Paiute Tribe, and NWB TECHNOLOGY, LLC, owned by the Northwestern Band of the Shoshone Nation, may now participate in the SBA's 8(a) Business Development Program.

Salt Lake City -- The Salt Lake Planning Commission granted approval to REDMAN INVESTMENT PARTNERSHIP to rehabilitate the historic Redman Building in Sugar House. The plan calls for retail, commercial and residential use of the building. The new, upscale plan is due to be completed in 2004.

Salt Lake City -- MOUNTAIN MEDICAL IMAGING CENTER, a freestanding medical imaging facility, has opened a new location at 5223 S. Woodrow Street. The center, which features premier technology not offered at any other hospital or imaging center, is operated by board-certified radiologists and vascular surgeons.

Salt Lake City -- UNIVERSITY HOSPITALS & CLINICS has received the National Research Corporation (NRC) Consumer Choice Award for the Salt Lake City metropolitan area for the fifth consecutive year. It is the only Utah hospital to receive the award for 2003. In the study conducted by NRC for its Healthcare Market Guide, University Hospital received top honors in four major categories: best doctors, best nurses, best overall quality, and best image and reputation.

Salt Lake City -- KNOWLEDGEBLUE, a provider of global outsourcing services to small and medium businesses, has signed a global outsourcing agreement with TRI-MAST INTERNATIONAL, a distributor of innovative specialty products. The agreement provides Tri-Mast with an integrated solution to manage their business applications and fulfillment operations without any upfront capital expenditure.

Salt Lake City -- The UTAH TRANSIT AUTHORITY (UTA) was awarded six AdWheel Awards from the American Public Transportation Association (APTA) for its efforts in marketing. The awards were given in the categories of television, promotion, awareness and radio advertisement, shoestring campaign and posters.

Salt Lake City -- DISCOVER FINANCIAL SERVICES of West Valley City received the 2003 Education Champion Award from the University of Phoenix.
