Barry's mother works hard for a living. He wants to be able to make her life a little easier. Alby, his best friend, has a secret gambling problem and wants nothing more than to be able to pay off his huge debt without having to go through his rich father. So when Alby hears about a boxing tournament, he sees an end to his problem and knows how to manipulate Barry into helping. Before he died, Barry's father had taught Barry to box and Barry knows that he has a real chance to win the tournament.
