Rule 805 Hearsay Within Hearsay

Hearsay included within hearsay is not excluded under the hearsay rule if each part of the combined statements conforms with an exception to the hearsay rule provided in these rules.

Comment

Multiple hearsay within one hearsay statement is not excluded under these rules if each statement within the combined testimony is admissible under a specific exception to the hearsay rule.[1] If any part of the multiple hearsay statement fails to meet an exception, the entire statement is inadmissible.
