Strategies to Support Children Exposed
to Violence (DOJ)
Scope: The Justice Department’s Office of Juvenile
Justice Delinquency Prevention seeks applications for
the FY21 Strategies to Support Children Exposed to
Violence announcement.
Deadline: April 5, 2021.
Funds: $7.5 million for up to eight awards of up to $1
million.
Eligibility: Colleges and universities; nonprot
organizations; state, local, special district, and Native
American tribal governments; and independent school
districts, among others.
Areas: DOJ said project objectives include reducing
the incidence of violence through accountability
efforts for juvenile offenders; improving family and
community responses to children exposed to violence;
increasing protective factors to prevent juvenile
violence, delinquency, and victimization; and supporting
communities to develop, design, and deliver strategies
to support children exposed to violence.

Low or No Emission Grant Program (DOT)
Scope: The Transportation Department’s Federal
Transit Administration seeks applications for the Low
or No Emission Grant Program announcement for
the purchase or lease of low- or no-emission vehicles
that use advanced technologies for transit revenue
operations, including related equipment or facilities.
Deadline: April 12, 2021.
Funds: $180 million total for up to 50 awards.
Eligibility: State, local, and Native American tribal
governments.
Areas: DOT said projects may include costs incidental to
the acquisition of buses or to the construction of facilities,
such as the costs of related workforce development and
training activities, and project administration expenses.

ROSES 2021—New Frontiers Data Analysis
Program (NASA)
Scope: The National Aeronautics and Space
Administration seeks applications for the ROSES 2021—
New Frontiers Data Analysis Program announcement to
enhance the scientic return from New Frontiers missions
by broadening scientic participation in the analysis and
interpretation of data returned by these missions.
Deadline: Sept. 3, 2021.
Funds: $2.5 million per year for 15 to 20 awards. The
maximum project period is three years.
Eligibility: U.S. institutions.
Areas: NASA said funding supports research proposals
to conduct scientic investigations using the utilization
of data obtained by the New Frontiers and Hayabusa
missions.

ROSES 2021—Lunar Data Analysis (NASA)
Scope: The National Aeronautics and Space
Administration seeks applications for the ROSES
2021—Lunar Data Analysis (LDAP) announcement to
enhance the scientic return of lunar missions; broaden
scientic participation in the analysis of lunar mission
data sets; and fund high-priority areas of research that
support planning for future lunar missions
Deadline: Dec. 1, 2021 for Step-1.
Funds: In the rst year, $1.1 million for up to eight years.
Eligibility: U.S. institutions.
Areas: NASA said LDAP supports scientic
investigations of the Moon using publicly available
(released) data from missions/instruments that include:
Lunar Crater Observation and Sensing Satellite
(LCROSS); Moon Mineralogy Mapper (M3); Lunar
Reconnaissance Orbiter (LRO); Gravity Recovery
and Interior Laboratory (GRAIL); and Acceleration,
Reconnection, Turbulence, and Electrodynamics of the
Moon’s Interaction with the Sun (Time History of Events
and Macroscale Interactions during Substorms), and
ARTEMIS (THEMIS), among others.

ROSES 2021—Mars Data Analysis (NASA)

the scientic return from missions to Mars conducted by
NASA and other space agencies.
Deadline: Sept. 24, 2021 for Step-1.
Funds: In the rst year, $3 million total for up to 20
awards. The maximum project period is four years.
Eligibility: U.S. institutions.
Areas: NASA said tasks responsive to this call include:
1) data analysis tasks, 2) non-data-analysis tasks that
are necessary to analyze or interpret the data, and 3)
non-data-analysis tasks that signicantly enhance the use
or facilitate the interpretation of mission data. These tasks
may incorporate theory, modeling, laboratory studies,
correlative analyses, and/or other research, if the
primary focus and majority of the work are data analysis.
