The June issue of The Progressive is, as always, a great read--thought-provoking and informative. One article, however, "What's at Stake in Wisconsin," tiptoed around the elephant and donkey in the room (by Ruth Conniff and Matthew Rothschild).

Where is the Democratic Party in Wisconsin's struggles? For that matter, where is it in any other state? There's a story in the transition of the Democratic Party, traditionally struggling for money, emerging in the 1980s as effective and successful in fundraising. To sustain and grow the coffers, the large donors had to be cultivated, which meant listening to and fulfilling campaign commitments to those donors. The endless chase for dollars changed who had a voice in the party...
