Brady & Co.

Curt Hebert joined Brady & Co. as a senior account manager and assistant vice president with the employee benefits department. Hebert previously was with Willis Alaska. He brings six years of insurance brokerage experience and is responsible for Brady & Co. employee benefits clients.

Chugach Electric Association

Dave Cottrell and Bruce Davison were elected to three-year terms on the board of directors of Chugach Electric Association. Cottrell is a certified public accountant and this is his first term on the Chugach board. Davison is an attorney and engineer. He has served on the board since 1997.

Alaska Diesel Electric

Sean Core, who has worked at Alaska Diesel Electric's Seattle headquarters since 1996, joined the Anchorage branch's parts department as a parts sales associate. The company manufactures Northern Lights generator sets and Lugger marine diesels and has an international clientele.

Alaska Society of Professional Engineers

John Hargesheimer was named the Engineer of the Year 2000 by the Alaska Society of Professional Engineers, Fairbanks Chapter. Hargesheimer is the principal and CEO of Nortech Environmental & Engineering Consultants in Fairbanks. He has more than 25 years experience in Alaska civil/environmental engineering and industrial hygiene experience encompassing industry, regulatory and consulting services. Thomas J. Berglin was named Young Engineer of the Year 2000. Berglin, a lifelong Alaska resident interested in arctic, civil and geotechnical engineering, has been working for Soils Alaska PC in Fairbanks since 1997. Amy Tidwell was named Student Engineer of the Year 2000. Tidwell has worked 20-25 hours per week since her sophomore year, initially as a research assistant in the civil and environmental engineering department at the University of Alaska Fairbanks, and currently as an engineer technician for Utility Services of Alaska. She plans to begin graduate study at Georgia Tech this month in water resources engi neering.

Hilton Anchorage Hotel

Lee R. Chipman was appointed general manager of the downtown Hilton Anchorage. Chipman replaces Bob Smith, who recently was promoted out of state. Chipman previously was general manager of the Hilton Boston Back Bay in Massachusetts. The Hilton hired Viktor Schmidt as its executive chef. Schmidt is a certified chef with the American Culinary Association, is Alaska's chef of the year and was named food and beverage manager of the year for the Alaska Hotel Motel...
