Richland County posts proposed zoning maps online.

Richland County residents can now review proposed changes to the County's zoning map online.

The updated zoning maps can be viewed and downloaded by navigating to the Planning Department webpage. The page features an overall zoning map for the county, as well as more detailed maps for specific areas including Beltway, North Central Richland, Northeast Richland, Northwest Richland and Southeast Richland. Some files are large and could take time to download.

The proposed changes are the result of ongoing work to prepare a new zoning map and recommend related text revisions to the county's Land Development Code.

"The Richland County Planning Commission spent many months working on the proposed map changes," said Aric Jensen, assistant county administrator. "They really wanted to recommend a map that was responsive to the community and consistent with the county's comprehensive plan."

The amendments to the county zoning map were recently recommended by the planning commission. County staff will update County Council on the revised maps and land development code on March 28. The update will be up for informational purposes only, and council will not hold a public hearing or take action at that time.
