Every second, something is wearing out, breaking, or becoming obsolete. Since 1994, Resource Revival, Portland, Ore., has recycled tons of bicycle, auto, computer and building parts to manufacture unique household items with electricity generated solely by wind power. Without using caustic chemicals or solvents, the materials are cleaned using detergent, hot water, and ultra-sonic wave generators recovered from the high-tech industry.
