Resources of Grandparents: Educational Outcomes
Across Three Generations in Europe and Israel
The statistical analyses in the article Deindl, C. and Tieben, N. (2017), 79(3):769-783 were based
on dyadic relations (parent-child-dyads) and not on children as described in the methods-section of
the article. These dyadic-relations were not accounted for by corrections of standard errors. We have
corrected this mistake by using the dataset as described in the methods-section. The analyses are
now based on 18,542 children, as intended, and the multivariate analyses control for the clustering of
children within parental household. After correcting the data, we observe slight undirected changes
in the means of nancial resources of parents and grandparents. In the multivariate analyses we
observe slight changes in coefcients and – as expected due to deletion of the duplicates – an increase
in standard errors. However, the overall results and the substantive conclusions remain stable after
correcting the error.
We thank Paula Sheppard and Christiaan Monden who brought this to our attention.
