Luis Carlos Rodrigo Prado, is a partner at the Rodrigo, Elías & Medrano Law Firm in Lima, Perú. He heads the Mining and Environmental Department of the Firm and performs as counsel for several international and local mining companies carrying out activities in Peru. He is a member of the Board of Directors of several public and private companies (such as Cía. Minera Antamina S.A., Sociedad Minera El Brocal S.A.A., Cía. Minera Argentum S.A., Teck Cominco Perú S.A., Marcobre S.A., a subsidiary of TSE listed Chariot Resources Inc., etc.). Mr. Rodrigo graduated from the Catholic University of Peru in the first place of his class, was admitted as a lawyer in 1990 and obtained an LL.M. from Yale Law School in 1993. In order to perform his post-graduate studies he was awarded a Fulbright scholarship (1992-1993) and, afterwards, another scholarship from the Ford Foundation (1993) to perform research on international arbitration issues. He is a part time lecturer at the Law School of the Catholic University of Peru (teaching the course on "Mining and Energy Law") and in the past has taught different courses there and at the Universidad de Ciencias Aplicadas in Lima. He has been a speaker in several national and international seminars and conferences on mining and foreign investment matters, and has been named the Leading Mining Lawyer in Peru by "Who's Who" and Latin Lawyer. He has also written a number of articles and papers published in local and international law magazines, addressing several mining, corporate finance and foreign investment legal issues. As of the year 2007, Luis Carlos Rodrigo is a Trustee at Large of the Rocky Mountain Mineral Law Foundation and since 2006 is the President of the Canada-Peru Chamber of Commerce in Lima. He also serves as Senior Vice-Chair of the Mining Committee of the International Bar Association and Vice-President of the Latin American Mining Lawyers Association since 2001. Mr. Rodrigo has also been a member of the Board of Directors of the Peruvian Institute for Mining, Oil and Energy Law, as well as member of the Tax and Legal Committees of the Peruvian National Mining, Oil and Energy Society and of the Advisory Committee on Mining Law of the Lima Bar Association.
