Resolution Authorizing Participation in Funerals

WHEREAS, the Volunteer Firefighters’ Benefit Law provides that a volunteer firefighter is engaged in a covered activity if he or she is injured or killed while attending or participating in any funeral in which the fire department, fire company or any unit thereof is engaged, including necessary travel directly connected therewith, provided such attendance was pursuant to orders or authorization and was within the State of New York, any adjoining state or in Canada; and
