Renesas Electronics America has expanded its powerful RZ microprocessor (MPU) Family to address the high-performance needs of a wider range of HMI-based applications. With the addition of the new RZ/G1N and RZ/G1H Groups of MPUs, Renesas is making it easier for embedded engineers to identify the best-fit solution for their HMI applications ranging from elegant touch-panel displays for home appliances, to Industrial Ethernet masters with integrated HMI, to embedded computer vision systems that enable artificial intelligence.

As the demand for more intelligent machines and enhanced user interfaces continues to grow, embedded design companies must meet a dizzying variety of changing application needs within specific time and budget criteria, said Semir Haddad, Director of Marketing, MCU and MPU Product Solutions, Renesas Electronics America. With the addition of the RZ/G1N and RZ/G1H MPUs, customers now have the flexibility to scale from low-power MPU system implementations all the way to the ultra-high-end, all within the RZ/G Series.

Similar to the RZ/G1M Group yet at a lower price point the new RZ/G1N MPUs feature dual ARM Cortex-A15 CPU cores operating at 1.5 GHz and 10,500 DMIPS performance.
