Created in 1957, the Confederate Air Force's (CAF) primary objectives were to: (1) restore, maintain, and fly World War II aircraft; (2) maintain museum facilities for the aircraft in tribute to those who built, serviced, and flew the planes; and (3) perpetuate in the memory and hearts of all Americans, the spirit in which these great planes were flown in defense of our nation. Headquartered in Midland, Texas, the CAF is comprised of 9,000 members and operates a fleet of 140 aircraft known as the Ghost Squadron.
