The reason New Year's Resolutions are so hard to keep--or, so easy to ditch, depending on your perspective--is that people make the mistake of resolving to do things they really don't want to do. If your heart's not in it, performing feats such as "losing weight" can be an exercise (pun intended) in futility. We have solved that problem by resolving to keep Christmas alive--at least for an extra month--by holding back a couple of presents from our significant other before gifting her on Little Christmas.
