A COURSE ON International Refugee Law, organized by the Department of International Law of the OAS Secretariat for Legal Affairs, took place in February at OAS headquarters in Washington, DC. The event was supported by the United Nations High Commission on Refugees (UNHCR).

The opening session of the course, attended by over 100 people, was presided over by the Chair of the Legal and Political Affairs Commission and Permanent Representative of Uruguay, Ambassador Maria del Lujan Flores; UNHCR representative in Washington, DC, Michel Gabaudan; OAS Secretary for Legal Affairs, Jean-Michel Arrigbi; and legal counsel for that Secretariat, Mr. Diego Moreno.
