REDFEATHER SNOWSHOES: Triathlete Bill Perkins founded Redfeather in 1988 because he wanted a snowshoe that would let him run at full speed. His innovation--a tapered tail--allowed users to snowshoe with a natural stride, rather than an artificially bowlegged one.
