In an introductory memo to members and subscribers, Eunice M. Thompson, as president of the American Records Management Association*, wrote, "This first issue combines discussions on the future of information management with techniques for meeting today's records programming needs."

Unfortunately, we were unable to reach the RMQ's first editor, William Benedon, CRM, FAI, who remained involved in ARMA until a few years ago. He left a legacy of 66 issues and more than 500 articles.
