This letter is in reference to the article by Jack Robertiello in which he has written about a "Chilean dish" called charquican. You may not be aware of the tendency that Chile has to appropriate cultural symbols from other countries, like the diablada, a dance originally from Oruro, Bolivia, or pisco, which has been registered as Chilean when it actually comes from Pisco, Peru, and the list goes on.
