I am the chairman of the board of directors of St Peter's Homes Inc., which provides affordable housing to the homeless. I am also a member of the board of directors of the Greater Carolinas Chapter of the American Red Cross. Most people know the Red Cross as a humanitarian organization that provides relief to victims of disasters, but the Red Cross also helps people prevent prepare for and respond to emergencies. My work with them has shown me what a tremendous difference dedicated individuals can make in tackling societal problems.
