READY FOR RETIREMENT? As Boomers enter their retirement years, their savings fail short.

In 2011, the first Baby Boomers started turning 65, unleashing a wave of Boomer retirements. Several estimates peg the Boomer retirement rate at 10,000-11,000 new retirees every single day. This retirement tsunami will impact businesses and entire industries as their most senior leaders step aside--leaving an experience gap in their wake but making way for a new generation of leadership.

Retirement will also have a tremendous impact on Booomers themselves, as the overwhelming majority of them are unprepared financially.

GoBankingRates surveyed the Boomer generation and found that 28 percent of them have no retirement savings at all. Another 17.3 percent have less than $10,000 saved. In fact, only 26 percent of those aged 60 and over are considered "on track" with their retirement nest egg.

The Baby Boomer generation is huge; roughly 48 million Boomers have yet to reach retirement age. And clearly, the majority of them need investment advice and practical suggestions for growing their funds. While 28 percent have no retirement savings, that leaves 72 percent with at least something stashed away--and that something can be enriched with investment strategies targeted to their individual goals and financial situations.
