Jin may not fit the standard hip-hop mold, but this 21-year old puts his own stamp on the genre with his debut CD, The Rest Is History, out in March. UPFRONT spoke with Jin about his music.

So are you excited about your album release?

Very excited.... Seeing that momentum and that excitement build ... it's a very intense feeling.

What's your single "Learn Chinese" all about?

It's not necessarily saying you're going to learn Chinese literally, but just the fact that, yes, I am Asian ... and I'm here to be myself.

Tell me more about your music.

It's something I think more or less that the everyday Joe could relate to.... You have artists that rap about the thing life that they lived and hustling and all of that. And there are people that can relate to it, but...
