RSA Engineering Inc. provided mechanical and electrical design for a three-story passenger terminal and 300-foot covered passenger platform with elevated track for the Alaska Railroad. The terminal provides assembly space for 250 people and has pedestrian flow into a subterranean tunnel that leads to the main airport terminal. The mechanical and electrical design included a separate heating plant, cooling plant, standby generator, communications system intercom, CCTV, and a one-of-a-kind aurora borealis lighting display in the tunnel.
