James Kubitz, vice president for real estate and facilities at the Alaska Railroad, stands in the center of the 800-foot-long, 36,000-square-foot Alaska Railroad freight shed built in 1941, that will be the first historic building certified under the U.S. Green Building Council's Leadership Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Program.
