Section 122. Quotations in open court.—The reason for the basic admonition, "Never read your argument" (Section 94, above), is that reading draws a veil between the advocate and the court. What is true of arguments as a whole is likewise true of lengthy quotations from documents or testimony or opinions. So —never read long quotations to a court.
