One of the best ways for a bank to establish a relationship with customers is to promote the institution as a source of trustworthy financial information and advice.

A Nebraska bank has launched a Web site that is designed to make it easy for individuals who feel confused or uncomfortable when discussing personal finances or banking to anonymously ask questions from the security of their home or office, 24-hours-a-day.

The Web site, called askabanker.com, was developed by TierOne Bank (assets $3.4 billion, 69 locations), Lincoln, Neb.

When a user logs on to askabanker.com and poses a question, a banker will respond with expert advice within two business clays. The Web site also contains a list of frequently asked questions, which include information about online banking, loans, financial planning, banking terminology and other topics.
