UTAHNS FACING DIFFICULT economic conditions can keep their homes warm this winter in part because of a tradition of service and partnership between the American Red Cross and Questar.

For almost 20 years, the American Red Cross has worked with Questar to ensure that Utah's vulnerable disabled and elderly low-income individuals receive assistance in paying their heating bills.

The REACH (Residential Energy Assistance through Community Help) Utility Assistance Program is offered throughout Utah and is administered by the Red Cross. The funds are provided by generous Utahns, including Questar customers, employees and shareholders, who contribute either directly to the Red Cross or when they pay their natural gas bills. The administrative costs of the program are underwritten by Questar. This ensures that 1 00 percent of the funds contributed reach those most in need.

Last year, 1,602 Utah. families were able to stay warm after receiving $269,259 from REACH. This year, the program hopes to do even more.
