Thank you for the interview with Barbara Lee (by Andrea Lewis, October issue). Her lone vote against potentially endless war in 2001 puts Representative Lee in a category of greatness. However, her response to the question of 2008 Presidential candidates gives cause for concern. If Barbara Lee does not endorse progressive Representative Dennis Kucinich, or perhaps the clearly antiwar Mike Gravel, she will be playing politics. If progressive Democrats won't even support progressive Democrats in the primary, there will be no progress made.
