The Private Company Roundtable teleconference on Sept. 29 drew approximately 100 FEI members to the discussion with Rep. Lynn Jenkins (R-Kan.) and Steve Moore, the chief of staff for Rep. Peter Roskam (R-III.)

Jenkins, who is a member of the House Financial Services Committee and active participant during the financial regulatory reform debate, described the atmosphere in the United States Congress, making it clear that Republicans and Democrats have both been to blame for recent out-of-control spending. She noted that this is the first time since 1974 that Congress hasn't passed a budget.
