Printing business moving to Cottontown.

An established area printing and graphics business will become the third tenant in the newly redeveloped Dunn Electric Co. building in Columbia's Cottontown neighborhood.

Columbia Printing & Graphics, established in 1978, will take over a 2,150-square-foot space at 2238 Sumter St., according to a news release. The business, which owner Scott DeRidder said has undergone significant expansion, is relocating from 1204 Sumter St. between Gervais and Lady streets.

"We have increased our lines of business to offer high-speed color and black-and-white digital, offset and wide-format printing," DeRidder said."We also print legal documents for attorneys along the East Coast, and we offer a full line of promotional products."

Cason Development Group, which has revitalized several Cottontown properties, purchased the Dunn Electric building in 2016 from Joe W. "Bill" Dunn. The original Dunn building was built in 1945. The portion which Columbia Printing & Graphics will occupy was built in the late 1960s and includes woodwork from the original building.
