Environmental reviews have recently begun for two proposed liquefied natural gas (LNG) projects in Passamaquoddy Bay, Maine. CLF has filed extensive comments for both the Quoddy LNG proposal on the Pleasant Point Reservation and the Downeast LNG proposal in nearby Robbinston. CLF is calling on the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) to analyze Fully the impacts of these LNG terminals on marine resources, boating, safety and local character in the forthcoming Environmental Impact Statements.

In addition to the Passamaquoddy Bay proposals, CLF is looking carefully at two potential terminal sites located in Massachusetts Bay, about ten miles east of Gloucester.
