MISSION AND FUNCTIONS

MISSION

The Precision Strike Association is dedicated to advancing the science of precision-guided weapons systems and to educate the public and its government leaders about the benefits of a national defense capability that has accurate, stand-off munitions capability against ships and land targets.

The spectrum of interests of the Precision Strike Association includes cruise missiles; stand-off weapons; fire-and-forget munitions; precision guided bombs; smart munitions and directly associated employment planning systems; weapon control systems; reconnaissance, surveillance, and target assessment (RSTA) Systems; and weapon delivery systems.

FUNCTIONS

* Advocate and promote awareness of the need for a strong defense capability that includes precision strike weapon systems.

* Encourage mutual understanding and collaboration in the international marketplace between industry leaders, political leaders, the media and the public.

* Advance technologies, such as guidance and control, graphic mission planning, signature reduction, propulsion, RSTA and munitions.

* Identify and study problems affecting national security that could benefit from highly accurate, stand-off weapons, develop solutions to such problems and provide those solutions to those government agencies responsible for the common defense.

* Unite the military and industry of allied forces through individual and collective actions to confront challenges that arise from deployment and use of precision-guided weapon systems.

* Sponsor opportunities to provide greater liaison and communications throughout all elements of the international defense community.

* Provide an international forum where our members and other interested parties can share ideas for the enlightenment of all.

* Provide a venue for the translation of concepts of operation into identification of opportunities for our industrial members.

ORGANIZATION

The Precision Strike Association is anon-profit, tax-exempt corporation organized for charitable, educational and scientific purposes. It became an exempt organization under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Service in 1988. The association's members are from government, including the military, and the private sector, but it is independent of government or any particular company.
