Praise for Gorbachev.

How tragic that Mikhail Gorbachev and his successors failed to find partners in the West who would lead the world toward more collective security, a more rational use of resources, and a more equitable distribution of wealth ("Capitalism Needs Perestroika," February issue). If President Obama is to fulfill his promise as the Abraham Lincoln of our time, he will have to lead the West to join with the rest of the world in advancing all three of these goals.
