held in June and July. As
always, Summer School
began with an introduc-
tion to careers in environ-
mental law and policy on
June 17, and continued
with sessions on Clean Air
(June 22), Clean Water
(June 24), Hazardous Sites
and Waste (June 30), Land
Use (July 14), Products
Regulation (July 21), and
a new session, Climate
Change: An Introduction,
on July 28.
ELI Associates hosted
a number of events, many
of them outside the D.C.
area. Farella Braun + Mar-
tel and David Lazerwitz
hosted NEPA Revival in
California: Strategies
and Lessons from the Re-
newable Energy Boom on
April 29 in San Francisco.

Bar, was part of ELI’s con-
tinuing Ocean Seminar
Series 2010 supported by
the Naomi and Nehemiah
Cohen Foundation. On
July 23, Law and the
Future of Brazilian For-
ests, co-sponsored by the
IUCN Commission on
Environmental Law and
the University of Texas
School of Law in Austin,
featured Justice Antonio
Benjamin, who spoke
about changes proposed
for Brazil’s Forest Code.
Training
Spring and summer oc-
casioned annual ELI train-
ings. e Western Boot
Camp was held on April
27-29 at the Paul Hastings
of‌f‌ice in San Francisco.
Next year’s Western Boot
Camp will be held on Jan-
uary 25-27, and Eastern
Boot Camp will be held at
K&L Gates in Washing-
ton, D.C., on November
10-12.
