PUBLIC MEETING POLICY ( Suggested )

BEFORE

Chairman reads the procedure:

  1. This is a public meeting of the Board of Fire Commissioners of the __________________ Fire District.

  2. We will now have the public comment period of the meeting.

  3. Please come forward and state your name and address. Please state as simply as possible what you want the Board to consider.

  4. This is not a question and answer session. This is the part of the public meeting designed to solicit comments from the public.

  5. Please do not expect the Board to answer any questions, as this time has been reserved for the public to inform the Board of Fire Commissioners about their opinions.

  6. Because at this meeting we conduct essential business of the __________________ Fire District, this Board of Fire Commissioners has placed a three-minute rule. Please attempt to abide by this rule. Anyone choosing to speak should address his or her remarks to the Board of Fire Commissioners.
