The Utah Bankers Association has elected Dale O. Gunther chairman and A. Scott Anderson vice chairman. Gunther is president and CEO of the Bank of American Fork and directs Gunthers Comfort Air, a family-owned business in American Fork, and Downtown American Fork Inc., a nonprofit organization devoted to revitalizing downtown American Fork. Anderson, in addition to his work as president and CEO of Zions First National Bank, has served on the boards of the Kimball Art Center in Park City, the Utah Economic Development Corp., and the Utah Red Cross.

Scott Daniels has been elected president of the Utah State Bar in the first-ever popular election for the position. After serving for 10 years as a district court judge Daniels serves as a sole practitioner in Salt Lake City, specializing in alternative dispute resolution. He also serves as a member of the Utah House of Representatives.

The Crossroads Plaza has appointed Barry Smith general manager. He served in the same position at Chico Mall in Chico, Calif. His experience includes management at the Scottsdale Galleria in Arizona, Trolley Square in Salt Lake City and Five Points Mall in Bountiful.

Michael C. Fenerty has been appointed president and CEO of Sport Court Inc., a Salt Lake City-based manufacturer of sports flooring products. Fenerty's experience includes management positions at Lennox Hearth Products in Texas, General Instrument Corp. in California, and RCA, General Electric, and Thomson Consumer Electronics in Indiana.

Cimetrix Inc., a Salt Lake City-based developer of machine control and connectivity software, has promoted Robert H. Reback to president and CEO. Reback has been with Cimetrix since 1996, most recently as executive vice president of sales.

In conjunction with its acquisition of Cambridge Technology Partners Inc. of Massachusetts, Novell Inc. has named Jack Messman president and CEO. Prior to the acquisition, Messman served as president and CEO of Cambridge. He has also worked as chairman and CEO of Union Pacific Resources Group Inc., U.S. Pollution Control Inc. and Somerset House Corp. Messman also served as president and CEO of Novell Inc. from 1982 to 1983.

Jacqueline E. Soechtig will head FutureSmart, a Murray-based networking system provider, as president and CEO.
