Harnessing the Data Revolution: Data Science
Corps (NSF)
Scope: The National Science Foundation seeks
applications for the Harnessing the Data Revolution:
Data Science Corps announcement to support capacity-
building to harness the data revolution at the local, state
and national levels to help unleash the power of data in
the service of science and society.
Deadline: Feb. 12, 2021.
Funds: $12 million total for 10 awards ranging from $1.2
million to $1.5 million.
Eligibility: Colleges and universities and nonprot
organizations.
Areas: NSF said the Data Science Corps will provide
practical experiences, teach new skills and offer learning
opportunities in different settings. This announcement
prompts the community to envision creative educational
pathways that will transform data science education
and expand the data science talent pool by enabling
the participation of undergraduate and master’s degree
students with diverse backgrounds, experiences, skills
and technical maturity in the Data Science Corps.

Transport phenomena research—International
Space Station to benet life on Earth (NSF)
Scope: The National Science Foundation seeks
applications for the Transpor t Phenomena Research at
the International Space Station to Benet Life on Earth
announcement.
Deadline: The submission window is Dec. 7, 2020,
through March 2, 2021.
Funds: In FY2021, $3.6 million for up to nine awards.
Eligibility: Colleges and universities, for-prot
organizations, nonprot organizations and qualied
individuals.
Areas: NSF said applications are sought for research
projects in the general eld of uid dynamics, particulate
and multiphase processes, combustion and re systems,
thermal transport processes, and nanoscale interactions
that can utilize the International Space Station National
Lab to conduct research that will benet life on Earth.
