I have worked with almost every one of the fine gentlemen being featured by Video Age and honored by NATPE. I might also add some others, such as Armando Nunez, Sr., Sammy Gang and William Saunders.

As a youngster entering this business in the '70s, my early impressions were shaped by observing the styles and skills of the movers and shakers in the international marketplace -- the leaders of the growing television empires. These included New York-bred, savvy business types like Larry Gershman, Paul Talbot and Herb Lazarus and the laid-back but ever smart Aussie: Glen Kinging.

I recall dealing with each of them over the past 20 years: Herb at Columbia when I had my first U.S. series and was looking for international distribution; Larry as head of MGM distribution, who put one of my series, Kids...
