December 5 was an eventful day for TEI's Philadelphia Chapter--on that day, the chapter held two of its traditional annual meetings in Valley Forge, Pennsylvania, and also jointly granted six scholarships with the Harrisburg Chapter.

In the morning of December 5, the chapter's State and Local Committee hosted several dignitaries from the Pennsylvania Department of Revenue, including Thomas W. Wolf (Secretary of Revenue), Robert Freedenberg (Deputy Secretary for Taxation), and Christopher Zettlemoyer (Chief Counsel). Members of the SALT Committee posed questions to the officials on current Pennsylvania state tax issues. Among the topics covered were the status of audit practices relating to intellectual property holding companies, efforts to enact combined reporting requirements for Pennsylvania corporate taxpayers, and property tax reform.

In the afternoon, the chapter's IRS Administrative Affairs Committee hosted its annual forum with the Internal Revenue Service. Several IRS officials attended and covered LMSB's priorities for 2008 and...
