'Perfect storm' of IT trends is brewing.

Mobility, social media, cloud, big data, and security. Info-Tech Research Group says trends in these areas are creating the "perfect storm," or the greatest force, for changing traditional IT departments since the proliferation of personal computing.

"Individually, these five trends may not look overly disruptive, but when viewed together as a collective whole, you will see the perfect storm of technology trends brewing," said Davin Juusola, vice president of research and development at Info-Tech Research Group.

"For CIOs and technology decision makers, these trends represent both an opportunity and a risk," he added. "Over the next five to 10 years, CIOs are going to have to dramatically change what they are delivering and how they are delivering it in order to remain relevant and effective to their organizations."
