There are some companies that just seem to have a knack for practicality. No matter what the product line, consumers can't help but think, "What a great idea; I could use that." So it is with Rubbermaid Home Products, Wooster, Ohio.

In keeping with the season, we couldn't help but snap up the Tree ($9,99) and Wreath ($5.99) Keepers. The former stores an artificial tree up to 7' tall while the latter can handle two 30" wreaths. They are made of water-resistant polyethylene (with zip closure) and boast strong nylon handles for easy transport.

Also catching our eye--as well as that of our neighbors and the sanitation crew--was the College Refuse Can ($12.99). An obvious gift choice for the dorm-dwelling student in your life, this will-notcrack-or-dent 32-gallon resin-reinforced container--with riveted sides for easy bag removal--comes in white, making the school's sports logo on the side of the can really pop. The hinged lid matches the school's color. Among the universities available are Texas, Michigan, Tennessee, Nebraska, Florida, Oklahoma, and Louisiana State, the latter two squaring off in this month's Bowl Championship Series title game. We couldn't resist the containers' versatility--besides their obvious use, they're perfect for offseason clothes storage, as mobile toy boxes, basketball receptacles, etc.--so we ended up ordering live. Rah, team!
