Sharp as a tack, in a tone that varies from stiffly formal to sardonic and knowing, Jessica Peers writes a memoir of her years spent in a residential school for autis-youth. Because Jessica has Asperger's Syndrome, a high-functioning form of autism, she was less disabled than many other students at the school. She converses almost normally and integrates impressive references from culture and literature, but her mind and moods are off-kilter, often plaguing her with obsessive thoughts.
