At least four states--Florida, Iowa, Kansas, and Tennessee-have extended unemployment benefits to workers who have been fired or have quit over their refusal to be vaccinated, which puts other peoples lives at risk. Usually, workers who are fired for cause or who leave voluntarily are not eligible for these benefits. "The people are begging [for] us to do something," explained Alicia Straub, a Republican state senator in Kansas who supported this change.
