The article in the March issue by Kai Wright is a truthful and outstanding piece of journalism ("Prison Outbreak: An Epidemic of Hepatitis C").

I'm a Hep C-positive convict at a California state prison. What I have to go through to get care is unbelievable. I've been officially positive for more than two years; however, nothing has been done to treat the virus.

Men and women are needlessly dying in prison for lack of basic medical care. We need this brought to society's attention.

As the article pointed out, health issues that are behind bars are also the health issues of the general public. More than 90 percent of all the cons in prison today will get out. That's a lot of Hep C-positive...
